Understanding the brief is key to creating the best photography. Whether it is documenting an event or shooting a new product, communicating with the client or subject to receive and formulate the brief is the best way to ensure the photography is relevant and effective.
Everyone has a Style:
We all see the world in our own way. It is important to deliver photography that meets a given brief but I always try to add something extra that says it is from me.
Capturing the Moment:
Sports photography makes time stand still. Across 90 minutes, 25 laps or 100m one moment can last forever through a photograph. It may come down to being in the right place at the right time but great photographs are made by knowing the time and the place to capture that moment.
Who is Graeme Brown?
I live in East Kilbride in Scotland. I have been photographing sport and international motorsport for almost 30 years. I started with local and national newspapers photographing football and other sports but my passion was in motorsport and for the last 25 years I have been working mainly in WorldSBK and MotoGP with cycling, Special Olympics and other sporting events coming in along the way. I have been lucky that my work has taken me around the world several times but whether it is thousands of kilometres away or on my own doorstep the passion to pick up a camera and capture moments in a creative and meaningful way never diminishes.
